HAMILTON COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On July 14, 2010, Albert L. Watson, III, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received
a Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Watson was hired to appeal the appointment of a conservator. Mr. Watson filed a notice of
appeal, but failed to file an appellate brief. As a result, the appeal was dismissed. Additionally, Mr.
Watson failed to communicate with his client regarding the status and outcome of the case. As a result, Mr.
Watson violated Rule of Professional Conduct 1.2 (scope of representation), 1.3 (diligence), and 1.4
(communication).
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability
to practice law.
