PUBLIC CENSURE
The above complaint was ï¬led against Kirk D. Catron, #23552, an. attorney licensed to
practice law in Tennessee, alleging certain acts of misconduct. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9,
the Board of Professional Responsibility considered these matters at its meeting on March 103
2017.
On June 13, 2016, Mr. Catron was representing a client in Chancery coort before a special
master. Although the special master ruled in Mr. Canonâs favor on an objection, Mr. Cotton
remarked, âThatâs what I have come to expect from you.â Mr. Catron continued, âYou never treat
me or my ofï¬ce fairly, and of course you will rule against me, as you always do.â Mr. Cotton
went on to complain that the special master had mistreated him in three other cases Aancl must have
a personal problem with him. Mr. Catronâs actions demonstrated disrespectful and obstreperoue
conduct to a tribune.-
By the aforementioned acts, Mr. Catron has violated Rule of Professional Conduct 3.5(e)
(engaging in conduct intended to disrupt a tribunal), 8.2(a) (impugning integrity of judicial
ofï¬cers), and 8.4(d) (misconduct) and is hereby Publicly Censored for these violations.
