MARSHALL COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On January 14, 2014, Martha Jane Durocher, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received
a Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
On July 18, 2012, Ms. Durocher discharged a weapon in public. Ms. Durocher entered a guilty plea to
the Class A misdemeanor of reckless endangerment and the Class C misdemeanor of unlawful possession of a
weapon.
By these acts, Martha Jane Durocher has violated Rule of Professional Conduct Rule 8.4 (b) (criminal
act).
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
