DYERSBURG ATTORNEY SUSPENDED FROM THE PRACTICE OF LAW
Christopher F. Donovan, respondent, a Dyer County attorney, was temporarily
suspended from the practice of law in this state by Order of the Tennessee Supreme Court
entered January 31, 2006.
Disciplinary complaints were filed against respondent on August 17 and October 4, 2005.
Written notices were sent to respondent requesting responses to the complaints. Mr. Donovan
failed to respond to the complaints.
This suspension was issued pursuant to Section 4.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9.
The Rule provides that Mr. Donovan shall be precluded from accepting any new cases during the
first thirty (30) days after issuance of the suspension order. He shall be precluded from
representing existing clients after thirty (30) days. He may request dissolution of the suspension
and an immediate hearing will be set before the Board of Professional Responsibility.
The suspension shall remain in effect until it is dissolved or amended by order of the
Supreme Court. Respondent Donovan is required to notify his clients and other parties of his
suspension.
