Public censure on February 23, 2001. He admitted prior addiction to prescription controlled
narcotics. The offense was mitigated by his full compliance with the terms of his medical
treatment for addiction and with his Lawyers Helping Lawyers contract for peer assistance. The
Board noted that if he fails to comply with these provisions in the future, or fails to pass drug
screens, it would be free to seek an immediate summary suspension of Mr. Curbo's law license.
