DAVIDSON COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On July 28, 2011, Fernando Jose Ramos, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
On July 18, 2009, Mr. Ramos was suspended from the practice of law for three years. Mr. Ramos did
not inform his client of the suspension. Instead, he transferred the clientâs file to another attorney without
communicating with or obtaining permission from the client.
By the aforementioned acts, Mr. Ramos has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.2 (Scope of
Representation), 1.4 (Communication), 1.6 (Confidentiality), and 1.16 (Declining and Terminating
Representation) and is hereby Publicly Censured for these violations. A Public Censure is a rebuke and
warning to the attorney.
