KNOXVILLE LAWYER SUSPENDED
On June 2, 2010, the Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended the law license of Keith A. Pope,
a Knoxville attorney, pursuant to Section 4.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. The Board of Professional
Responsibility petitioned the Court to temporarily suspend Mr. Popeâs law license because of his posing a threat
of substantial harm to the public.
Pursuant to Rule 9, Section 4.3, Mr. Pope cannot accept new clients or undertake any new
representation. He may represent existing clients for thirty (30) days, after which he cannot represent them
unless the temporary suspension has been dissolved. Mr. Pope may file an application with the Tennessee
Supreme Court requesting a dissolution or modification of the temporary suspension order. If he makes such an
application, a hearing to consider whether the suspension should be continued, modified or dissolved will be
conducted before a panel consisting of members of the Board of Professional Responsibility.
