Public censure by order entered January 29, 1998. He submitted a conditional guilty plea,
acknowledging he had done favors for Judge Lanier (including a trip to the Bahamas and driving
the judge to Memphis to socialize with female employees). Additionally, he invested in a
Mexican restaurant and signed a $1,000 guarantee on the loan which inured to the benefit of
Judge Lanier.
