ORDER TRANSFERRING ATTORNEY TO
DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
This matter is before the Court upon a petition to transfer David Gregory Hays to
disability inactive status ï¬led by the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 27.3.
Upon due consideration of documentation from Mr. Haysâ medical care provider
submitted by Mr. Haysâ lawyer, the Court concludes that David Gregory Hays is
currently incapacitated from continuing the practice of law.
iT IS, THEREFORE, CONSIDERED, ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND
DECIUEED BY THE COURT THAT:
1. The law license of David Gregory Hays shall be transferred to disability
inactive status for an indeï¬nite period of time and until further orders of the Supreme
Court.
2. Mr. Hays shall be allowed to petition for reinstatement to active status
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 27.7.
3. The Board shall pubiish notice of this transfer pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
9, §§ 27.5 and 28.11.
4. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 32.4, documents other than this Order
relating to Mr. Haysâ disabiiity proceeding shall not be public records and shall be kept
confidential.
