KNOX COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED

On January 7, 2026, Bret Philip Bryce, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a Public
Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Bryce failed to act with reasonable diligence and promptness in representing a client and failed to
communicate with his client about the representation. Additionally, Mr. Bryce failed to comply with a court order
and his actions caused a delay in the case for over 9 months. Mr. Bryce’s conduct was prejudicial to the
administration of justice.
By these acts, Mr. Bryce has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3 (diligence), 1.4 (communication),
3.2 (expediting litigation), and 8.4 (misconduct), and is hereby Publicly Censured for these violations.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney’s ability to
practice law.
