Public censure on May 20, 1997. An Assistant District Attorney General signed a $15,000
promissory note payable to Wilson. Subsequently, Wilson tried and negotiated settlements in
criminal cases in which the obligor was representing the State. He knew, or should have known,
the Assistant District Attorney had not informed the presiding judges or the District Attorney
General of the circumstances which created a conflict of interest. Wilson tried a murder case
against the obligor without notifying the trial court or the District Attorney General of the
circumstances. He knew, or should have known, that the obligor should recuse himself from
representing the State in cases against Wilson, and he should have disclosed the circumstances
when it was obvious the Assistant District Attorney did not make a disclosure.
