MADISON COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED

On July 7, 2016, Jack Colin Morris, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a Public
Censure from the Supreme Court of Tennessee.

The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Mr. Morris based upon
one (1) complaint of misconduct involving a trust account. Mr. Morris improperly issued a trust account check
to opposing counsel prior to receiving good and sufficient funds from his client, thereby causing an overdraft of
his attorney trust account.

Jack Colin Morris entered a Conditional Guilty Plea acknowledging his actions violated Rules of
Professional Conduct 1.15 (safekeeping of property and funds) and 8.4(a) (misconduct).

A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney’s ability to
practice law.
