PUTNAM COUNTY ATTORNEY REINSTATED
By Order of the Tennessee Supreme Court entered November 22, 2021, Albert Fitzpatrick Officer, III,
was reinstated to the active practice of law.
On March 11, 2021, Mr. Officer was suspended by the Supreme Court of Tennessee for a period of six
(6) years with six (6) months active suspension and the remainder served on probation. Mr. Officer filed a
Petition for Termination of Active Suspension pursuant to Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 30.4(c) on
November 16, 2021. The Board found the Petition was satisfactory and submitted an Order of Reinstatement to
the Court.
Mr. Officer’s reinstatement to the active practice of law is conditioned upon his engagement of a
practice monitor during the probationary period who will meet with him monthly to assess his case load,
timeliness of tasks, adequacy of communication with clients, and accounting procedures and provide monthly
written reports of Mr. Officer’s progress to Disciplinary Counsel. In addition, Mr. Officer shall continue his
current TLAP monitoring agreement during the term of his suspension and probation and follow all
recommendations of TLAP.
Mr. Officer shall incur no new complaints of misconduct that relate to conduct occurring during the
period of probation that result in the recommendation by the Board that discipline be imposed.
