TENNESSEE ATTORNEY SUSPENDED
On September 29, 2005, the Supreme Court of Tennessee entered an Order
suspending Gordon M. Wasson from the practice of law for a period of two (2) years from
October 20, 2003.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for imposition of
reciprocal discipline based upon the fact that on June 29, 2005, the Supreme Court of Arizona
entered an Order of Suspension suspending Mr. Wasson from the practice of law in Arizona for a
period of two (2) years, effective October 20, 2003 and that Mr. Wasson be placed on probation
for a period of two (2) years, effective upon reinstatement.
The Tennessee Supreme Court ordered that Gordon M. Wasson be suspended
from the practice of law in the State of Tennessee for a period of two (2) years beginning
October 20, 2003 and that Gordon M. Wasson shall be placed on probation for a period of two
(2) years effective upon his reinstatement. The Tennessee Supreme Court further ordered that
Mr. Wasson be subject to the same terms and conditions imposed by the Order of Suspension
entered by the State of Arizona which included that Mr. Wasson is prohibited from practicing
law in Tennessee, holding himself out as an attorney at law, performing any legal services for
others, accepting any fee directly or indirectly for legal services, appearing as counsel or in any
representative capacity in any proceeding in any Tennessee court or before any administrative
body or holding himself out to other or using his name, in any manner, in conjunction with the
words âattorney at lawâ, âattorneyâ, âcounselor at lawâ, or âlawyerâ. The Court further ordered
that Mr. Wasson comply with Section 18 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9 with regard to
notice to clients, duty to maintain records, duty to return client property, duty to return fees or
costs paid in advance that have not been earned or expended, duty to withdraw in any court in
which he has matters pending and duty to file an affidavit with the Board regarding compliance.
Finally, the Court ordered that Mr. Wasson pay the costs of the proceeding.
