On July 17, 2026, John David Carver, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a Public
Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Carverâs law license was administratively suspended due to his failure to comply with the
requirements of the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education. Mr. Carver was aware of his failure
to comply with the requirements. Mr. Carver practiced law for two months, including participation in nine court
hearings in three counties, while his license was suspended.
By these acts, John David Carver has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 5.5 (unauthorized practice
of law), 3.4 (fairness to opposing party and counsel), and 8.4(d) and (g) (misconduct) and is hereby Publicly
Censured for these violations.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
