MEMPHIS LAWYER CENSURED
On October 4, 2012, William H. Thomas, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee, was Publicly Censured by the
Tennessee Supreme Court pursuant to Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 4.4.
Mr. Thomas failed to abide by an order of the court requiring him to comply with discovery requests in a
civil proceeding in which Mr. Thomas was a party.
By the aforementioned acts, William H. Thomas, Jr. has violated Rule of Professional Conduct 8.4(d)
(engaging in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice) and 8.4(g) (failing to comply with a final court
order entered in a proceeding in which the lawyer is a party) and is hereby Publicly Censured for these
violations.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
