CLARKSVILLE ATTORNEY PLACED ON DISABILITY
On June 7, 2007, the Supreme Court of Tennessee issued an Order
transferring the law license of Van Lewis Riggins, Jr., of Clarksville, Tennessee,
to disability inactive status. Section 21 of Rule 9, Rules of the Tennessee
Supreme Court, provides that if a lawyer is so incapacitated that he cannot
adequately practice law, his law license may be transferred to disability inactive
status. In this case, Mr. Riggins, through counsel, moved the Supreme Court for a
transfer to disability inactive status. Mr. Riggins will remain on disability
inactive status until such time as the Court judges him fit for practice and active
status is returned.
