CHATTANOOGA LAWYER CENSURED
Keith Alan Black, a Chattanooga attorney, received a Public Censure from the Board of
Professional Responsibility on October 12, 2006. Mr. Black engaged in the practice of law for a
period after he was administratively suspended from the practice of law on September 20, 2004,
for failing to pay his Board of Professional Responsibility registration fee. When advised of his
suspension, Mr. Black paid the necessary fee and was reinstated on May 17, 2006. Mr. Black's
practicing law while on administrative suspension violated Rule of Professional Conduct 5.5(a).
A Public Censure is a form of public discipline which declares the conduct of the lawyer
improper but does not limit the lawyer's right to practice.
