NASHVILLE LAWYER CENSURED
On September 23, 2011, Jennifer Meehan of Nashville, Tennessee was publicly censured by the
Tennessee Supreme Court pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 4.4. Ms. Meehan violated the Rules of
Professional Conduct by submitting a false resume to a potential employer and making false statements to
disciplinary counsel for the Board. Ms. Meehanâs actions violated Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 8, Rule of
Professional Conduct 7.1(Communications Concerning a Lawyerâs Services), 8.1 (Bar Admission and
Disciplinary Matters) and 8.4 (Misconduct). Ms. Meehan was further ordered to pay the expenses and costs of
the disciplinary proceedings against her, pursuant to Rule 9, Section 24.3, of the Rules of the Supreme Court.
For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee publicly censured Jennifer Meehan. A public
censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to practice law.
