DAVIDSON COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On October 25, 2011, Ivan Omar Lopez, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Lopez allowed clients to pay filing fees into his business account and he would later transfer the
money to his trust account. This co-mingling of funds violated Rule of Professional Conduct 1.15, but no client
funds were adversely affected.
By the aforementioned acts, Ivan Omar Lopez, has violated Rule of Professional Conduct 1.15
(safekeeping property) and is hereby Publicly Censured for this violation.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
