BANKS, JAMES L. BPR # 001551

October 22, 1982 County:Hamilton District:3

Suspended for one (1) year by opinion entered October 22, 1982. The Supreme Court affirmed
the findings of the hearing panel and Circuit Court that his conduct was improper by receiving
funds from his client and investing them in his personal ventures. He failed to properly account
for the funds to his client; the client brought suit, which was dismissed when Banks paid her
$45,000 and a note of $20,000. The client had to pay a $15,000 attorney fee to make the
recovery.
