FRIEDMAN, WILLIAM E. BPR # 008077
August 25, 1997 County:Shelby District:9
Public censure on August 25, 1997. He agreed to represent a client in September 1992 on a slip
and fall case, but did nothing on the case until March 1995 after receiving the defendant's answer
which was 2 years overdue. He did not discuss with his client that there was insufficient proof
and that her claim could not be made without the proof; but, instead, took a voluntary dismissal
for failure to prosecute in May 1996. He did not inform his client of the non-suit until 10 months
later. He then re-filed the suit in February 1997 without gaining any additional evidence.
