NASHVILLE LAWYER SUSPENDED
On May 18, 2011, John Broadbent Cundiff of Nashville, Tennessee, was publicly censured and
suspended by the Tennessee Supreme Court for a period of one year, pursuant to Rule 9, Section 8.5 of the
Rules of the Supreme Court.
Mr. Cundiff violated disciplinary rules by engaging in the unauthorized practice of law in violation of
Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 8, Rule 5.5 and by failing to respond to the Board of Professional
Responsibility (the Board) in violation of Rule 8.1(b). The Supreme Court publicly censured Mr. Cundiff for
engaging in the unauthorized practice of law and suspended him for one year for his failure to respond to the
Board.
Mr. Cundiff was further ordered to fully comply in all respects with the requirements and obligations of
suspended attorneys as set forth in Rule 9, Section 18.1 of the Rules of the Supreme Court. After May 28,
2011, Mr. Cundiff shall not use any indicia of lawyer, legal assistant, or law clerk nor maintain a presence
where the practice of law is conducted.
