KNOX COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On May 25, 2012, Lisa Anne Temple, of Knoxville, Tennessee, received a Public Censure from the
Supreme Court of Tennessee.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Lisa Anne Temple based
upon a complaint that Ms. Temple accepted representation of a client while she was suspended from practicing
law. Ms. Temple did not file the clientâs divorce and made misrepresentations to the client. Ms. Temple
submitted a Conditional Guilty Plea agreeing to a Public Censure which was approved by a Hearing Panel, the
Board of Professional Responsibility and the Supreme Court.
Ms. Templeâs accepting representation of a client while suspended and misrepresentation to that client
violate Rules of Professional Conduct 1.4 (communication), 1.5 (fees); 5.5 (unauthorized practice of law); 8.1
(disciplinary matters) and 8.4(a)(c) and (d) (misconduct). For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee
publically censures Lisa Anne Temple.
