HENRY COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED

On March 22, 2011, Richard L. Dunlap, III, of Paris, Tennessee, was publicly censured by the

Tennessee Supreme Court.

On October 8, 2010, a Petition for Discipline was filed by the Board of Professional Responsibility

against Mr. Dunlap alleging disciplinary misconduct arising from Mr. Dunlap’s plea of guilty to misdemeanor

domestic assault. Mr. Dunlap entered into a conditional guilty plea agreeing to accept a public censure for his

misconduct. Mr. Dunlap’s actions violated Rule of Professional Conduct 8.4, Misconduct.

A public censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney’s ability to

practice law.
