NASHVILLE LAWYER SUSPENDED
On January 9, 2012, Nathan Scott Moore, of Nashville, Tennessee, was suspended by the Tennessee
Supreme Court for one (1) year, consisting of three (3) months active suspension and the remainder on
probation, pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 4.2. The one year suspension is subject to the condition
that Mr. Moore shall engage a practice monitor who shall review and monitor Mr. Mooreâs office practices.
Further, Mr. Moore shall make restitution to three clients in the amount of $8,690.00.
On August 30, 2011, the Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Mr.
Moore, pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 9. Mr. Moore submitted a Conditional Guilty Plea admitting to
neglecting the cases of three clients, failing to adequately communicate with them and failing to diligently
pursue all competent claims on their behalves.
Mr. Mooreâs actions violated the following Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.1 (Competence), 1.3
(Diligence), 1.4 (Communication), 1.5 (Fees), 1.16 (Terminating Representation), 3.1 (Meritorious Claims and
Contentions), 3.2 (Expediting Litigation) and 8.4(c) (Misconduct).
Mr. Moore was further ordered to pay the expenses and costs of the disciplinary proceedings against
him, pursuant to Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 24.3, and fully comply in all respects with the requirements and
obligations of suspended attorneys as set forth in Supreme Court Rule 9, Section 18.
