DANDRIDGE LAWYERâS LAW LICENSE SUSPENDED
On March 17, 2003 the law license of Kevin A. Linsley of Dandridge was suspended for
three years by the Supreme Court of Tennessee pursuant to Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme Court
of Tennessee. At the end of the 3 years Mr. Linsleyâs license will not be automatically
reinstated. He must file a petition for reinstatement with the Board and prove by clear and
convincing evidence at a hearing before a hearing committee of the Board that he has obtained
the necessary moral qualifications, competency and learning in law to justify his return and that
his return to the practice of law will not be detrimental to the integrity of the bar, to the
administration of justice, and to the public interest.
Disciplinary Counsel initiated this matter by filing a petition alleging that Mr. Linsley
had violated the attorneyâs code of ethics (Rule 8, Rules of the Supreme Court). A hearing was
held before a three-member hearing panel of the Board. Mr. Linsley did not appear at that
hearing. The Hearing Panel recommended that Mr. Linsleyâs law license be suspended for three
years. This recommendation was approved by the Board of Professional Responsibility and the
Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Linsley neglected several clients; failed to adequately communicate with them,
keeping unearned fees and in some matters making misrepresentations regarding his clientsâ
cases.
