KNOXVILLE LAWYER TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
On April 26, 2013, the Supreme Court of Tennessee temporarily suspended the law license of Whitney
Suzanne Bailey pursuant to Section 4.3 of Tennessee Supreme Court Rule 9. The Board of Professional
Responsibility petitioned the Court to temporarily suspend Ms. Baileyâs law license due to her failure to
respond to a complaint of ethical misconduct.
Effective April 26, 2013, Ms. Bailey is precluded from accepting any new cases and she must cease
representing existing clients by May 26, 2013. After May 26, 2013, Ms. Bailey shall not use any indicia of
lawyer, legal assistant, or law clerk nor maintain a presence where the practice of law is conducted.
Ms. Bailey must notify all clients being represented in pending matters, as well as co-counsel and
opposing counsel of the Supreme Courtâs Order suspending her law license. Section 18 of Supreme Court
Rule 9 requires Ms. Bailey to deliver to all clients any papers or property to which they are entitled.
This suspension remains in effect until dissolution or modification by the Supreme Court. Ms. Bailey
may for good cause request dissolution or modification of the suspension by petition to the Supreme Court.
