CHATTANOOGA LAWYER CENSURED
Pursuant to Rule 9 of the Rules of the Tennessee Supreme Court, the Board of Professional
Responsibility issued a Public Censure to Charles Patrick Dupree who practices law in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Mr. Dupree did not request a hearing and therefore the censure became final on April 28, 2009.
Mr. Dupree violated the Rules of Professional Conduct by failing to exercise reasonable diligence. Mr.
Dupree failed to inform the Court and opposing counsel of a scheduling conflict prior to a scheduled court date.
Mr. Dupree did not appear for the hearing at which contested discovery motions that were critical to his clientsâ
interests were set to be heard. His actions violate Rule 1.3, Diligence, of the Rule(s) of Professional Conduct.
For these violations, the Board of Professional Responsibility publicly censures Charles Patrick Dupree.
A public censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to practice
law.
