HAWKINS COUNTY LAWYER REINSTATED BY SUPREME COURT
John Douglas Godbee has been reinstated to the practice of law by Order of the Tennessee Supreme
Court entered February 28, 2012. Mr. Godbee was temporarily suspended from the practice of law on January
24, 2012, by Order of the Supreme Court due to Mr. Godbeeâs noncompliance with his Tennessee Lawyerâs
Assistance (TLAP) Monitoring Agreement. On January 30, 2012, Mr. Godbee filed a Petition for Dissolution
of the Order of Temporary Suspension. On February 23, 2012, a hearing was conducted before a three-member
Hearing Panel of the Board of Professional Responsibility. On February 24, 2012, the Hearing Panel entered its
Report and Recommendation that the temporary suspension be dissolved. The Supreme Court dissolved Mr.
Godbeeâs temporary suspension by Order filed February 28, 2012.
