SMYRNA LAWYER CENSURED

Joe Mason Brandon, Jr., a Smyrna attorney, was publicly censured by the Board of
Professional Responsibility on October 20, 2003, as a consequence of being found in contempt by
the Circuit Court for failing to timely appear in court on three cases. Mr. Brandon was fined $50.00
and sentenced to ten days in jail, suspended upon attendance to each of his cases on the dates and
times assigned.

Mr. Brandon's conduct was in violation of Rules of Professional Conduct 3.5(e) and 8.4(d).

A Public Censure is a form of public discipline which declares the conduct of the lawyer
improper, but does not limit the lawyer's right to practice law.
