The above complaint was filed against John Nichols Shelton, an attorney licensed to practice law

in Tormeeeee, alleging; certain note of misconduct. Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, the Board of

Professional Responsibility oonstclerotl this matter at its tyneoting on September 8‘, 2017.

Mr. Shelton failed to obtain. approval from his client before filing pleadings and misrepresented. to

the court that a document ottaohod to the pleadings had been filecl in another court. Mt. Shelton also failed

’ to diligently represent his client’s interests and failed to adequately communicate with hen 1n mitigation;

Mr. Shelton provided a full refund to the client and expressed remorse for his actions.

By these acts, John Nichols Shelton has violated Roles 0t Il’rofeeslonnl Conduct 1‘2 (scope of

ropreeeotatlon), 1.3 (diligence), 1.4 (communication), 3.3 (candor toward ttllmnal), and 8.4(0)

(minoonduet), and is hereby Publicly Censored for these violations.
