Linda Kaye Kendall Garner, a Memphis lawyer, received a public censure on July 30, 1990. On
February 13, 1990 she misled and deceived the court to continue a February 15th trial date so she
could attend the out-of-state memorial services of a deceased family member. It was later
determined that the death of the family member occurred on February 7th and that the memorial
service was held in Memphis on February 10th. It was further determined that the wife of her
God-brother had died and she was to accompany him to Ohio regarding estate matters, however,
the trip was cancelled and she remained in Memphis and attended to other legal matters.
