CHATTANOOGA LAWYER PLACED ON DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
By Order of the Tennessee Supreme Court entered January 15, 2002, the law license of Steven
Douglas Brown of Chattanooga, was transferred to disability inactive status pursuant to Rule 9, Rules of the Supreme
Court of Tennessee. Mr. Brownâs disability arises out of drug dependency and bipolar disorder. The transfer to
disability inactive status was a result of agreement by Mr. Brown. Mr. Brown cannot practice law while on disability
inactive status. Mr. Brown can return to the practice of law only after reinstatement by Order of the Supreme Court
upon showing that his disability has been removed and that he is fit to resume the practice of law.
