Suspended for two (2) years by order entered November 24, 1998, retroactive to his temporary
suspension of May 8, 1997. A petition was filed by the Board alleging Efird did not keep his
client properly informed as to the status of her medical malpractice suit which he filed in 1990;
that he neglected and did not diligently prosecute her claim; that he failed to withdraw or take
other action to protect the interests of this client when his license was temporarily suspended on
December 2, 1996 for failing to meet his CLE requirements; and that he failed to respond to the
Board's written inquiries requesting additional information. Efird did not file an answer to the
petition and did not attend the hearing on the matter.
