KNOX COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On July 24, 2012, Lisa Belle Hatfield, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Ms. Hatfieldâs law license was suspended for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) noncompliance and
she practiced law for two months while her license was suspended. This constitutes the unauthorized practice
of law. Her license was later reinstated when she fulfilled her CLE requirements.
By these acts, Lisa Belle Hatfield, has violated Rule of Professional Conduct 5.5 (Unauthorized Practice
of Law) and is hereby Publicly Censured for this violation.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
