COOKEVILLE DISTRICT ATTORNEY TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
On September 25, 2006, the Supreme Court of Tennessee issued an Order
temporarily suspending William E. Gibsonâs license to practice law, upon finding Gibson posed
a substantial threat of irreparable harm to the public. Disciplinary Counsel filed a Petition with
the Supreme Court supported by affidavits of Judge Leon C. Burns, attorney John Phillip Parsons
and Disciplinary Counsel.
The Order requires Gibson to comply with Section 18 of Tennessee Supreme
Court Rule 9.
This suspension remains in effect until dissolution or modification by the
Supreme Court. Gibson may request dissolution or modification of the suspension by petition to
the Supreme Court.
