MEMPHIS LAWYER CENSURED

On February 2, 2010, Archie Sanders, III of Memphis, Tennessee, was publicly censured by the
Tennessee Supreme Court.

The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Mr. Sanders pursuant to
Rule 9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee, and a duly appointed hearing panel recommended that
Mr. Sanders be publicly censured. Mr. Sanders violated the Rules of Professional Conduct by failing to
diligently move his clients’ case towards resolution and by failing to adequately communicate with his clients.
Mr. Sanders’ actions violated the following Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.3 (Diligence), 1.4
(Communication), and 8.4(d) (Misconduct). Mr. Sanders was further ordered to pay the costs of the
disciplinary proceedings.

For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee publicly censured Archie Sanders, III. A public
censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorney’s ability to practice law.
