MEMPHIS ATTORNEY TRANSFERRED TO DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
On August 18, 2005, the Tennessee Supreme Court entered an Order
staying its May 21, 2004 Order of Temporary Suspension and transferred the law
license of Christopher P. Renard, of Memphis, to disability inactive status.
Section 21 of Supreme Court Rule 9 provides that if an attorney suffers from a
mental or physical infirmity or illness which makes it impossible for the attorney
to defend him or herself in a disciplinary proceeding, or which incapacitates the
attorney from practicing law, the Court may transfer the attorneyâs license to
disability inactive status. Mr. Renard and Disciplinary Counsel agreed to the
transfer.
Mr. Renardâs law license shall not be reinstated to active status until after
the Supreme Court receives evidence that his disability no longer exists, and
after the Court receives a favorable Board report recommending dissolution or
modification of the temporary suspension order.
