PUBLIC CENSURE

The above complaint was filed against James Gregory King, #17439, an attorney licensed
to practice law in Tennessee, alleging certain acts of misconduct. Pufsuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.
9, the Board of Professional Responsibility considered these matters at its meeting on December
9,2016. ‘ ‘
An order was entered in one of Mr. King’s divorce cases requifiog Ml King’s client to
appear before the Court with photographic material and othel’ data stored on his cell phone and
show cause why the data should not be filed under seal. The parties and fl) eir counsel attempted
to reach an agreement While in Court waiting for their ease to be called. Qne of the options
considered was to require Mr. ng to delete all of the data from his cell phone. Acting under
Mr. King’s direction, Mil King’s client: deleted the data from his cell phone before a final
agreement was reached and presented to theCourt for approval
By these acts; James Gregory King has violated Rules of Professional Conduct 3.4(21)
(unlawful destruction of material having potential evidentiary value) and 34(0) (knowing
disobedience to the roles of a tribunal) and is hereby Publicly Censored for these Violations.
