SPRINGFIELD LAWYER CENSURED
On June 22, 2009, Fletcher W. Long of Springfield, Tennessee, received a Public Censure from the
Tennessee Supreme Court.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Fletcher W. Long
pursuant to Rule 9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Mr. Long submitted a Conditional Guilty
Plea agreeing to accept a Public Censure. Mr. Long violated the Rules of Professional Conduct and
Disciplinary Rules by neglecting client matters and failing to communicate with his clients in a satisfactory
manner. His actions violate the following Rule(s) of Professional Conduct and Disciplinary Rules: DR 1-
102(A)(5), DR 7-101(A)(1), RPC 1.3, RPC 1.4, RPC 1.5, RPC 3.2, RPC 8.4(a) and (d). Mr. Long is required to
pay the costs of the disciplinary proceedings.
For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee publicly censures Fletcher W. Long. A public
censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to practice law.
