NASHVILLE LAWYER SUSPENDED
On February 12, 2010, the Tennessee Supreme Court suspended Stephanie Janet Williams, of Nashville,
Tennessee, for a period of one (1) year with all time to be served on probation under the appointment of a
practice monitor. Ms. Williams neglected a clientâs case and failed to keep the client informed.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed formal disciplinary charges against Ms. Williams on
August 13, 2009. Ms. Williams entered into a Conditional Guilty Plea which was approved by the Hearing
Panel, the Board of Professional Responsibility and the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Ms. Williamsâ actions violate the following Tennessee Rules of Professional Conduct: 1.3 (diligence);
1.4 (communication); 3.2 (expediting litigation); and 8.4 (misconduct).
