CLINTON LAWYER CENSURED
On May 18, 2009, Victoria H. Bowling, of Clinton, Tennessee, received a Public Censure from the
Tennessee Supreme Court.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Ms. Bowling pursuant to
Rule 9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Ms. Bowling submitted a Conditional Guilty Plea that
was approved by the Board and the Supreme Court. Ms. Bowling violated the Rules of Professional Conduct
3.5 and 8.4 by being found in criminal contempt for derogatory remarks and conduct disruptive to the Juvenile
Court of Anderson County. Ms. Bowling was ordered to pay the costs of the disciplinary proceeding.
For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee publicly censures Victoria H. Bowling. A public
censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to practice law.
