HAWKINS COUNTY LAWYER SUSPENDED
On October 4, 2012, the Tennessee Supreme Court temporarily suspended the law license of John
Douglas Godbee, a Rogersville attorney, based upon a Petition filed by the Board of Professional Responsibility
alleging Mr. Godbee posed a threat of substantial harm to the public.
On August 13, 2012, Mr. Godbee filed a petition to dissolve his temporary suspension. On September
13, 2012, a hearing was held on Mr. Godbeeâs petition to dissolve his temporary suspension. On September 26,
2012, a hearing Panel filed its Report and Recommendation that Mr. Godbeeâs Petition to Dissolve his
temporary suspension be denied and Mr. Godbee remain temporarily suspended. By Order filed October 4,
2012, the Supreme Court ordered Mr. Godbee remain temporarily suspended.
