MEMPHIS LAWYER CENSURED
On February 16, 2011, Peggy J. Lee of Memphis, Tennessee, was publicly censured by the Tennessee
Supreme Court.
The Board of Professional Responsibility filed a Petition for Discipline against Ms. Lee pursuant to Rule
9 of the Rules of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Ms. Lee violated the Rules of Professional Conduct by
failing to keep adequate trust account records. Ms. Leeâs actions violated the following Rules of Professional
Conduct: 1.15 (Safekeeping Property and Funds) and 8.4 (Misconduct). Ms. Lee was further ordered to pay the
costs of the disciplinary proceedings.
For these violations, the Supreme Court of Tennessee publicly censured Peggy J. Lee. A public censure
is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to practice law.
