HAWKINS COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On April 16, 2010, John Anderson, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a Public
Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Anderson represented his client in three separate matters. Although Mr. Anderson represented the
client for approximately three years, virtually no progress was made in any of the cases. Mr. Anderson failed
to keep his client informed regarding the status of the cases and the client was forced to hire new counsel.
John Anderson has violated Rule of Professional Conduct 1.3 (diligence) and 1.4 (communication) and
is hereby Publicly Censured for these violations.
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
