KNOX COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED

On October 19, 2009, Charles Carter, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee, received a
Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.

Carter was administratively suspended on August 11, 2006, for failure to pay the BPR’s annual fee.
While Carter was suspended, the BPR received a letter from his law firm which indicated that Carter was still
actively practicing law.

On March 25, 2009, Carter’s law license was temporarily suspended for failure to respond to the Board
concerning the allegation of misconduct referenced above. While his license was temporarily suspended, Carter
practiced law by filing supplemental responses to discovery in the Knox County Circuit Court.

By the aforementioned facts, Charles Carter, has violated Rule of Professional Conduct 5.5(a) and is
hereby Publicly Censured for this violation.
