âIâhe above complaint was ï¬led against Paul Forrest Craig, an attorney licensed to practice
law in Tennessee, alleging certain acts of misconduct. Pursuant to Supreme Conn; Rule 9, the
Board of Professional Responsibility considered these matters at its meeting on December i0,
2010.
The Respondent was retained to represent the Complainantâs supply company in several
collections matters. For approximately a year the Respondent misled the Complainant into
thinking that the matter was being litigated, when in fact the Respondent never âfiled a lawsuit in
any of the cases. Finally, the Respondent informed the Complainant that he had been dishonest
and had not taken appropriate action in the Cases. The Respondent refunded the money that the
Complainant paid him.
Respondent violated RFC 1.3 and 1.4 by failing to take reasonable action to proseoute his
clientâs olaims and failing to keep - his client informed regarding the status of the unites. -
Moreover, the Respondent violated RPC 8.4(0) by misrepresenting to his client the status of the
cases and the work he had performed.
By the aforementioned facts, Paul Forrest Craig has violated Rule of Professional
Conduct 1.3 (diligence), 1.4 (cmnmunication), and 8.403) (misconduct) and is hereby Publicly
Censurod for these violations.
