MONTGOMERY COUNTY LAWYER CENSURED
On March 19, 2012, Christopher Wayne Barber, an attorney licensed to practice law in Tennessee,
received a Public Censure from the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Tennessee Supreme Court.
Mr. Barber practiced law while his license was suspended. In addition, he charged an unreasonable fee
in a case and failed to notify his client that his license to practice law had been suspended. Finally, Mr. Barber
failed to respond to Disciplinary Counselâs requests for additional information.
Mr. Barber was Publicly Censured for violating Rules of Professional Conduct 1.3 (diligence), 1.4
(communication), 1.5 (fees), 5.5 (unauthorized practice of law), and 8.1(b) (bar admission and disciplinary
matters.)
A Public Censure is a rebuke and warning to the attorney, but it does not affect the attorneyâs ability to
practice law.
