ORDER TRANSFERRING ATTORNEY TO
DISABILITY INACTIVE STATUS
This matter is before the Court upon a Notice of Contention of Disability filed by
the Board of Professional Responsibility (Board) pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.9,§ 27.4.
Upon due consideration of correspondence and documentation provided by Keri
Elizabeth Rule demonstrating she suffers presently from mental or physical infirmity or
illness which renders her incapable of practicing law, and which raises a substantial
concern regarding her capacity to respond to or defend against any pending disciplinary
complaint,
IT IS, THEREFORE, ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED BY THE
COURT THAT:
The law license of Keri Elizabeth Rule shall be transferred to disability
1.
inactive status for an indefinite period oftime and until further orders ofthe Supreme Court.
In addition,any pending disciplinary matter shall be stayed until further order ofthis Court.
Ms.Rule shall be allowed to petition for removal ofdisability inactive status
2.
pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.9, § 27.7.
The Board shall publish notice of this transfer pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R.

9,§§ 27.5 and 28.11.
Pursuant to Tenn. Sup. Ct. R. 9, § 32.4, documents other than this Order

relating to Ms. Rule's disability proceeding shall not be public records and shall be kept
confidential.
